BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – New jobs will come to Berkeley County when W International moves into a new facility at Bushy Park.
News 2’s Raymond Owens had the chance to take a tour of the new facility on Friday.
The company’s CEO tells us 600 jobs will come to the county. He also told us what they are looking for as far as employees and what you might be able to do to get those jobs.
W International builds parts for the Navy, including submarines and aircraft carriers. They’re investing about $32.5 million for the new facility.
The company plans to hire about 200 people a year for the next three years. They are looking for everything from certified welders to engineers and administrative employees.
They are also offering training programs at Cross and Timberland High Schools. Those who complete those programs will be certified to start a job in welding.
